PREPARING FOR A HOME ENERGY AUDIT
Before our Energy Auditor visits your home, prepare a list of any existing problems in your home such as condensation or uncomfortably hot, cold or drafty rooms. No concern is too small. Have copies or a summary of your home's yearly energy bills. It is important that it be for the whole year due to seasonal affects of energy usage. Your utility provider can provide this for you. Your Energy Auditor will use this to determine what to look for during your audit. Below are a few questions you will be asked regarding your family’s behavior:
- What is the average thermostat setting for summer and winter?
- How many people live here?
- Is every room in use?
- Is anyone home during working hours?
These answers may help uncover some simple ways to reduce your household’s energy consumption. Take a walk through your home with our Energy Auditor as they work and ask questions. Some equipment may be used to detect sources of energy loss such as infrared cameras and blower doors.

HOME ENERGY AUDIT PACKAGES
ULTIMATE HOME ENERGY AUDIT
Our “Ultimate” home energy audit gives you the most complete picture of your home’s overall performance.
COST: $475.00
Estimated Time: 3-4 hours
This package includes:
- Home Energy Audit walk-through; Interview with homeowner; On-site visual inspection of your home.
- Combustion safety for carbon monoxide levels and natural gas leaks.
- Evaluation of mechanical systems, oven, range and exhaust fans for both age and efficiency.
- Blower door test with leak detection walk-through. A blower door test is a whole home depressurization system used to identify total air leakage of the whole home. The air pressure is measured room by room to determine specific areas where air is coming in or leaking out of the house.
- Evaluation of windows and doors for their efficiency and age.
- Infrared Imaging - Our infrared camera can help to see what is going on inside of walls to detect a multitude of problems including: missing or damaged insulation, plumbing leaks, moisture or water penetration, disconnected HVAC supply ducts, energy loss through windows and doors and even termite infestations!
- Energy Bill Analysis - Using a 12 month summary of usage to calculate your base load for energy usage and how you compare to others in your area.
- Comprehensive written report of the findings and recommendations for improvements including an action plan that prioritizes the energy improvements to be completed based on their return on investment.
BASIC HOME ENERGY AUDIT
Our “Basic” home energy audit is if you are interested in having us evaluate a specific area of your home or a “problem area” making recommendations for improvement.

This package includes:
- On-site visual inspection of your home.
- Energy Bill Analysis - Using a 12 month summary of usage to calculate your base load for energy usage and how you compare to others in your area.
